Getting Dialed-In With Mark Bonales of @MarkBonalesArchery

Online shopping is easy. It is. So why go to an actual storefront if you can sit in your pajamas sipping a freshly brewed cup of coffee and with just a couple of “clicks”, your CC number and a few days wait time have your purchase waiting at your doorstep?

The Bonales Difference

Archery shops have something special…but it has to extend beyond a good product line, and a courteous staff or they won’t get people off the couch and into the shop! The shop has to really stand out of the crowd. Mark Bonales, of Bonales archery does just that. He stands out! Mark offers incredible one-on-one lessons, and a mind-boggling knowledge about bows and shooting technique.

Now Finally The Interview!!

1. What drew you to archery (how old were you, what got you started, what's the nitty-gritty)?

I was in my mid-teens when I got into archery. My future brother-in-law and me walked into a local archery shop and we were hooked.

2. What made you decide to open up your own store?

At one time there were 5 shops or places that carried archery equipment. Over time, all of them closed for one reason or another. I found myself without a local place to get my archery equipment. I hated driving out of town to get what I needed. Me being an archer and having friends that were into archery, I found myself working on other people’s equipment and helping people be successful in archery. I decided to open an archery business of my own, and that was over 15 years ago.

3. Everyone wants to offer great customer service and good products, but what makes Bonales Archery different than other stores?

Every item I stock in my archery shop, I personally use or have used. I sell items that I believe in. There are many products out there, to say the least, that are not very well made or user friendly. You won't find them in my shop. My main goal is to make my customer successful and happy, and in doing so I create life long archers.

4. You really put Precision Peeps through the ringer in testing and trials, what made you decide that it was a good fit for your customers?

The answer is pretty simple. I look for products that are simple and help increase shooting accuracy. I found that Precision Peeps is one of those products. After using the peeps, my accuracy was improved. Since I have been an archer for many years, it's not often I find a something that actually makes me a better shooter. Precision Peeps did that and made a believer out of me. If it's good enough for me, then it's a great product to offer my customers.

5. What would be your advice to a brand new shooter?

If someone in a brand new shooter or interested in archer, I would suggest they go to a local archery shop and talk to a professional. There is a lot of information out there online, but there is no substitute for experience and one on one conversation and expertise.

6. What is the best information to post for location and how to contact you?

My shop is located in Ceres, California. I would advise people to follow me on Instagram at @markbonalesarchery or look at my webpage at bonalesarchery.net. However, the best way to contact me is by email or phone. mbonales@sbcglobal.net or 209-531-2533.
